Online classes

With the government now ready to re-open educational institutions around the country, thousands of lives will become vulnerable to the deadly virus

KARACHI:

The basis for the socio-economic growth is established by an efficient education system. The fact that Pakistan’s literacy rate is about 56% suggests that the nation needs to do a great deal to improve its education sector. Unfortunately, the raging pandemic has halted whatever little effort was being made.

With the government now ready to re-open educational institutions around the country, thousands of lives will become vulnerable to the deadly virus. Instead of carrying on with physical classes as usual, it is time for the government to invest in technological innovation and online initiatives. Furthermore, internet boosters need to be installed in remote areas so that students in far-flung localities are able to access online material and interact in online classes. We desperately need a technological revolution.
