KARACHI:
Trees are the lungs of our planet. They are essential in that they inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen. Trees are a blessing for us and we must be the protectors of this blessing. However, instead of growing more trees, human beings cut them for commercial purposes. Due to this greed on the part of the people, the Planet Earth is in danger. The cutting down of forests is causing extinction of many animals species for whom forests serve as habitats.
There is therefore the need to come up with policies to protect the forest, and ensure their implementation. The government should launch campaigns against deforestation with the help of the media besides encouraging people to grow as many trees as possible.
