KARACHI:
Prices are rising again with each passing day. The recent increase in the prices of vegetables, chicken, fresh milk, pulses, wheat flour, sugar, eggs and other food items has troubled the common man. Exorbitant non-food items are also adding to the common man’s woes, besides the transport fares as well as health and education services. Inflation has risen to such highs and the purchasing power of the masses has fall so low that they are even unable to afford necessities and pay electricity and gas bills. And with unemployment at a historic high — due to the raging coronavirus as well — the people of Pakistan are passing through the worst times of their life. My humble request to the government is to have mercy upon us and provide some relief at least on household essentials.
