The killing of Osama Satti, an innocent young man, at the hands of Islamabad police has sent once against brought to light the high-handed tactics that our police is generally known for. If media reports are to be believed, the poor lad lost his life for no fault of his. His father has reportedly claimed that he had an argument with the police a day back, and he had to pay the price. Unfortunately, this is not the first incident of its kind. We have seen innocent citizens losing their lives to police high-handedness in many parts of the country. The government must ensure all it falls within its domain to ensure that the culprits do not go scot-free. The incumbent government should also take immediate steps to fulfil its promise of bring genuine reforms in the police department.
