PDM’s rhetoric

Letter January 04, 2021
The government should do all it can to stop such politicians from continuing with their foul rhetoric

KARACHI:

The use of unparliamentary language by opposition party members under the umbrella of PDM against rival government politicians as well as the armed forces has sadly become a common practice over the last few weeks. This use of foul language and derogatory remarks is unacceptable in a civilised society — and extremely worrisome also. To the contrary, the provocative tone of PDM leaders is getting rather aggressive with every passing day.

The government should do all it can to stop such politicians from continuing with their foul rhetoric. Such politicians should be barred from the Parliament and made to apologise publicly. Nobody can be allowed to violate the integrity, security or defence of Pakistan in the garb of the right to free speech. Offenders must know the consequences of crossing the line of decency.
