Dean Jones’ passing

LAHORE:

Australian cricketing legend, commentator, coach and analyst, Dean Jones passed away on Thursday at the age of 59. He was in India to commentate for the Indian Premier League when he suddenly suffered a heart attack that led to his untimely death which has come as a shock to all and left a huge void in the cricketing community.

Jones was especially close to people in Pakistan as he led Islamabad United to victory twice in the PSL while serving as a coach and mentor. He also coached the Karachi Kings for PSL-2020, and had previously stated that he was very excited to come back to Pakistan for the closing stages of the PSL later this year.

The whole Pakistan grieves at this heart-breaking news. His sudden demise has united rival countries India and Pakistan in mourning. All cricketing fans should keep this passion alive for the sake of such inspirational mentors. May his soul rest in peace!
