Scientist have constantly been warning us of the severity of climate change for a very long time, but most people still don’t seem to take it seriously. Many, in fact, do not believe that climate change is even real.
Over the past few years it has become evident that Pakistan has borne the brunt of climate change. Severe heatwaves, monsoon spells and gut-wrenching winters have been endured by the Pakistani population in recent years. The best way to combat this is to decrease the pollution levels in our country. This can be done by switching to renewable sources of energy such as solar and hydroelectric power, instead of burning fossil fuels. In cases where this is not possible, the coal in power plants should be purified to decrease carbon and sulfur content. Hopefully, our leaders will realise the severity of the situation and come up with other alternatives as soon as possible.
