LAHORE:
From the sprawling beaches in the south to the mountains and lakes in the north, Pakistan’s beautiful landscape remained unparalleled even when compared with the most beautiful parts of the world. Unfortunately, tourism remains uncommon among the country’s own citizens. If a picture of Lake Saiful Malook is shown to a Pakistani, most will think that it is located somewhere in Switzerland or Europe.
This is primarily because Pakistan’s image around the world and to its own citizens remains extremely poor. People think it is some underdeveloped war-torn country with nothing to offer. Hence, are large number of people are eager to immigrate every year. The Pakistani government needs to change this perception by advertising Pakistan’s beauty, offering special deals to tourists and promising security to all those who visit.
Furthermore, tourist spots need to be properly developed. The beaches in Karachi are polluted with garbage and sewage while there is lack of proper infrastructure up north. Hopefully, Prime Minister Imran Khan will focus on properly developing the country’s tourism sector so as to improve Pakistan’s image and economy.
