The advantages of e-learning

Letter August 16, 2020
A child coming back from a long day at school has all his energy drained out

The pandemic has brought about a new way of life for both parents and children alike. E-learning is on the rise owing to the sudden shutdown of schools and for many this has become more of a nuisance than a blessing. However, contrary to popular belief, online learning can be advantageous for child’s educational needs.

A child coming back from a long day at school has all his energy drained out. Successive periods in school combined with long travel time can become very hectic for youngsters. With online learning, a child can enjoy the luxury of staying in a warm home environment while studying for a limited number of hours. It can also help provide the child with flexibility in setting up their daily routine. Physical exercise is also a necessity for all children. This need is more easily addressed when a child stays at home due to a more flexible timetable and increased energy levels.

There is also a possibility of “focused attention” as parents will be more able to monitor their child and get involved in their education. At the same time, this helps strengthen the triangle between the parent, child and teacher.
