The pandemic curse?

The pandemic sure proved to be deadly

The Covid-19 pandemic has spread throughout the world like wildfire, devastating millions of lives in the process. Its adverse effects on humanity have taken a toll on millions — with innumerable people dying, the unemployment dilemma, the striking rise in poverty rates and much more.

Now, as the deadly virus finally shows signs of subsiding, it is important to learn where we stand in the wake of its deadly shadow. Although it extended a terrible toll on our lives, many people seized this opportunity and managed to bring about betterment in their lives.

When the world underwent a lockdown situation where home became the only safe haven for people, most of the working mothers in families across the world were forced to stay home, with time at hand to revise, declutter and organise their daily routine. They also got a chance to rekindle their bonds with their loved ones.

Furthermore, e-learning became popular inside homes as many parents decided to adopt homeschooling in order to ensure that their children did not lose out on the opportunity to gain knowledge in a warm family environment. For some however, working from home brought about a much-needed break from stressful 9-to-5 jobs as they finally got some space in order to mentally and physically relax. The pandemic has also helped rekindle brotherhood in communities where everyone tried to extend a helping hand to those who were affected by the situation. People felt encouraged to put other’s needs before their own. Even the Earth began to heal itself. The skies became bluer, the oceans and rivers got purified of all the filth and the stars regained their luster with less pollution in the air.

The pandemic sure proved to be deadly. Now when its strength is diminishing, the only way to deal with its remnants is by looking at the silver linings it left behind and building strong foundations from all that is left so that humanity can once again stand tall and thrive.
