Unjust CAIE grading

Letter August 14, 2020
I want to raise awareness regarding this issue through the mainstream media

The Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) had this year promised to give students “expected grades” based on evidences provided by schools and through proper evaluation of grades sent by teachers. They had claimed that their results would be 100% fair, given through a proper process.

However, when we received our grades we were shocked and appalled to see that we had been severely downgraded and unjustly graded. Our grades were the complete opposite of what our school and performances had predicted. Students who had achieved A* in their O-levels were graded U for their A-levels by the CAIE, the world’s largest provider of international education programmes and qualifications for 5 to 19 year olds.

A student who is desperate to get justice, I want to raise awareness regarding this issue through the mainstream media. This is a huge problem for all students who are not going to be able to pursue their future aspirations and universities because of this unjust method.
