The vicious cycle of killing should be condemned by the whole nation
KARACHI: Sectarian hatred in Pakistan is increasing due to growing intolerance and unhindered hate speech. As a result, sectarian violence has intensified in the country over the past few years.
There have been deadly terrorist attacks, specially against people belonging to minority sects in the country, and their places of worship. A large number of people have been killed in these attacks. The vicious cycle of killing should be condemned by the whole nation. I do not consider religion the most adequate means of keeping it under lock and key. For that, literature alone avails humanistic science, the ideal of the free and beautiful human being.
I urge the government to launch a reforms process, by first starting to remove hate material from the curriculum for the sake of sectarian harmony in the country.
