What about Iran’s viewpoint?

Letter August 02, 2011
Something must be said about what the leaders of the Islamic world ought to do in reset its relationship with the US.

WASHINGTON DC: This is in reference to Shahid Javed Burki’s article of August 1 titled “Obama’s promised new beginning”. The writer has been over-generous in showering advice on the US president. Something must also be said about what the leaders of the Islamic world ought to do in helping reset its relationship with the US. What can Obama do about Tehran feeling “anxious because of the fact that it is the only major Shia country in the middle of a Sunni world”? Doesn’t the writer think that the ummah should take note that Iran may be inclined to give up its nuclear ambitions if it feels comfortable about its security situation?
