Apropos to the editorial ‘Frigid unconcern’ published on May 09, 2020, a NADRA spokesman denies any reported death of an old lady while waiting in queue outside a NADRA centre in Gujranwala which falls within the domain of NADRA Lahore Region. Therein the implementation of prescribed Covid-19 SOPs in assisting Ehsaas Program applicants has been praised by all segments of society as well as the media in the given extraordinary circumstances. Right since the arduous task of biometrically updating thousands of affectees was assigned by the federal government, seating arrangements along with arrangement of tents was made outside all main centres of the Region. Besides, all centres were disinfected on a daily basis and it was ensured that all applicants are made to undergo temperature check, sanitsed, and maintain safe distance. Separate counters were also set up for females and senior citizens. Wearing a face mask inside the NADRA centres was made mandatory for all visiting applicants as well as NADRA employees. As of Saturday, 250,000 Ehsaas applicants have been facilitated and processed by NADRA all over the country, including more than 60,000 from the Lahore Region.
