RAWALPINDI: The spread of the Covid-19 is getting out of control although the rate of the recovery of patients in Pakistan is comparatively better than many of the advanced countries. The spread of the infection is mainly to do with the non-serious and careless attitude of our people stemming from a lack of awareness and ignorance.
In today’s modern world, social media has allowed the common man to have access to a plethora of information. Therefore, one cannot say that he barely knows anything about the virus. There should be no excuse for breaking regulations as evidence shows the destruction that the deadly virus has caused in other countries. The government has also launched several campaigns to raise awareness and educate the people. This will help in creating a realisation of the disastrous effects of this deadly disease which has become the symbol of fear and death all over the world.
Yet, a number of people are ignoring regulation measures and are utilising all possible opportunities to get out of their homes and enjoy their lives like before. They want to deceive the police and other security forces that are risking their lives for our safety. We should remember that escaping the lockdown is not a success rather it is our failure of not being able to behave in a mannered way during such a crucial time. We cannot blame the government for our own irresponsible attitude if we are not able to learn at an individual level.
This pandemic is not a joke. When we risk ourselves just for the sake of momentary enjoyment, we ultimately become a risk to the whole nation. It is important to follow all precautionary measures because it is a national responsibility to do so. It’s time to join hands for all our healthcare heroes who are rendering a great sacrifice by serving us in a challenging time.
