Ramazan during lockdown

Letter April 27, 2020
Our Ramazan will be spent under lockdown and our fasts will be all the more difficult because of lack of activities

KARACHI: The holy month of Ramazan is here. Unfortunately, the happiness that this holy month brings forth will not be the same this year around. Our Ramazan will be spent under lockdown and our fasts will be all the more difficult because of the lack of activities.

However, we can try to create happiness even during the worst of times. This is a good opportunity for people to spend sehri and iftar time with their families. Those that live far away can always be present on video call. It is also the perfect time for boys to learn how to prepare iftar delicacies. Sharing fun stories together and having light-hearted conversations will help in building bonds and bridging gaps between family members.

We should use this month to apologise to people we have hurt and earn good deeds by praying. Reverting to God and keeping faith in Him will also help one’s psychological health. It is important for us to understand that in the end everything will happen for the best.
