Stay at home

Letter April 26, 2020
It is foolish to break regulations because each person is a ticking bomb for others.

ISLAMABAD: The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases and related deaths continue to increase by the day while the supplies that keep us safe are getting scarce. It is only natural to be overwhelmed with fear and anxiety while being constantly bombarded with information about the deadly virus.

Our schools are closed and plans postponed, as we work and study from home isolating ourselves from our loved ones. Our daily lives have seemingly come to a complete stop in an effort to “flatten the curve” and minimise the harm the virus has already caused. We all are fighting towards the same goal but yet our efforts are met with disappointment and disruption. We have to put a stop to this virus. One way those of you at home can help is to just stay at home. Find ways to be creative and try to help others around you rather than loitering around. Go online and learn a new skill that will help you in your professional life. Start pursuing different activities such as reading, writing, painting, etc. These things will help you in the long run.

It is foolish to break regulations because each person is a ticking bomb for others. Ego and selfishness should be pushed aside during these testing times and we need to come together if we are to contain the spread.
