No relief package has been announced yet for poor students in helping them pay their tuition fee
PESHAWAR: The entire world is grappling with an unprecedented situation. A few months ago, no one even imagined that we would be in this situation fighting an invisible enemy. The lockdown has badly affected all segments of society and the world is rather scared of this highly contagious virus. Businesses have been shut down and as a result people are unable to make ends meet.
In these testing times, the government of Pakistan is trying to help citizens by announcing relief packages for many sectors. What is appalling is that the government seems to be ignoring the plight of students. No relief package has been announced yet for poor students in helping them pay their tuition fee. With everything under lockdown, it is evident that the burden on the parents of university going students has greatly increased as they are struggling to meet monthly house expenses, let alone pay school fees of their children.
It is time for the government to support students. If the government fails to pay heed to the plight of students then the future of Pakistan is certainly grim.
