It's extremely shameful to see a religious society that preaches the importance of life treat their animals so cruelly
KARACHI: Humanity has never fully understood the significance and importance of life. Violence against any living creature for no reason is completely unacceptable. Recently, I went to a pet store and witnessed the eyes of pets and animals filled with tears. Most of the them were chained and caged under direct sunlight as price tags hung over their ears.
All of the animals were looking severely sick, dehydrated and starved. When the lockdown was enforced due to the corona pandemic, the pets at the shelter were left to die of hunger and thirst.
It is extremely shameful to see a religious society that preaches the importance of life treat their animals so cruelly. We all jump at each other over small petty differences but forget about what the true message of our religion actually is.
Pet stores need to be banned while proper shelters should be set up in order to provide helpless animals the care they need. After all, they too are God’s creations.
