If these factories don’t shut down, they will create graver consequences
PINDI BHATTIAN: The world has been facing a pandemic that has become a hornet’s nest for labourers. All businesses have been shut due to the accelerated spread of Covid-19. The main objective of a lockdown is to protect people and abate the spread of the virus, but in Pakistan it seems to be a far cry.
In spite of the government’s strict instructions, many factories are still running their business. Even in the time of crisis and fear, factory owners do not care about the lives of workers and their families. Workers are being forced to work. Factory owners are not only putting their lives at risk but also risking the lives of other people. Labourers travel from different areas to work. None of them is allowed to take leave; and if anyone tries to, he or she is fired. Besides, hardly any factory has adopted necessary precautionary measures.
I, therefore, request the government to take strict action against those involved in this. If these factories don’t shut down, they will create graver consequences and devastation for the people faced with the coronavirus threat.
