Hopefully the chaos created by the pandemic will lead in a new global order
WAH CANTT: Global warming occurs when there is a rise in the earth’s temperature mainly caused by human activities. The main causes of global warming are results of either natural causes or human activities. It is one major factor that contributes to climate change across the globe. For the past century, scientists have been observing changes in the earth’s climate. But within the past few decades the climate has changed drastically and it has caused damage to earth’s ecosystem.
Due to the recent pandemic, however, in most of the countries under lockdown, a visible change has been observed in the environment. The busy streets and main roads that were once jammed during rush hours with automobiles, a major source of hydrocarbons polluting the environment, are now empty. Tourist spots, which were once crowded by travellers, now remain deserted. The famous canals of Venice have become clearer in past few weeks and dolphins can be seen returning to Italy’s shores; this unusual clarity is due to the lack of boat traffic. The huge reduction in the number of tourists and workers has also made the city look cleaner than ever.
Hopefully the chaos created by the pandemic will lead in a new global order with an ideal shift in how we look at development and security by using new and creative ways of building a greener, safer and more prosperous future for all.
