Gaming addiction

Letter April 04, 2020
It is high time that parents restricted their children from playing such vicious and barbaric games

KARACHI: Like the addiction to alcohol and cocaine, video games have turned into one of the most popular addictions in the past two years. Teenagers are sitting all day in front of huge screens and mobile devices focusing on their games. They are in a virtual zone of their own without a care in the world about what is happening in reality. Have you ever noticed how distant they have made themselves from their family and friends? Too much screen-time is the cause of various problems.

Playing violent video games highly affects the innocent minds of children as they learn to become more violent and aggressive. They get more involved in fist-fights and use abusive language which utterly destroys their personality and innocence. Apart from this, they start spending huge amounts of money on costly video games instead of buying books or sports equipment. This also affects their academic progress which in turn also ruins their career.

It is high time that parents restricted their children from playing such vicious and barbaric games. A little attention towards your child’s activities can help you to stop them from ruining their career and life.
