It is important not to be uselessly in the bed all day
ISLAMABAD: The government has imposed a countrywide lockdown in order to contain the spread of COVID-19. Restrictions have also been imposed on gatherings, crowds and congregational prayers to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Here are some suggestions for all of you to cope with the lockdown. Read, read and read. Read about COVID-19, read about world issues, read about issues that are surfacing in Pakistan and read lots of books. Engage yourself in activities which are healthy such as play cricket at home, exercise, do some yoga and jump rope. Try to gain a new skill such as cooking while we have this time to ourselves. This is the time to enjoy simple pleasure. It is important for people to reflect on their life.
Speak to your parents and give them time. Do not make them feel alone in this scary situation. Share some practical experiences with your children, teach them through your experience and have light-hearted conversations with them.
Listen to music as it can make you feel fresh and energetic. Get your children involved in home activities such as cleaning rooms and washing clothes. This is also the perfect time to pray as much as you can. It is important not to be uselessly in the bed all day. During a period of isolation, introspection is important. It helps you think and develop your mental capability. It helps you look at the world from a different perspective and gives you an insight into your own self. Remember, this lock down is a blessing in disguise.
