MUMBAI: This is with reference to Ejaz Haider’s article of July 27 titled “It’s not just Mr Tharoor”. I think it was very unwise of Shashi Tharoor to say that there are no liberals who side with India’s analysis of Pakistan. There are many. However, to expect these liberals to grow beyond their nationalism is absolutely absurd.
Honestly, what surprises me is that he seems to be taken seriously by Pakistanis. As a diplomat, he often shot off his mouth and for some reason would talk in a fake American accent. I would advise people in Pakistan to simply ignore him. Also, I have issues with the writer saying: “Shashi Tharoor is no fool. Quite the contrary. He is a high achiever and combines brilliance with great marketing skills.”
George Bush, at one time, was the most powerful man on earth. Does that prove that he was not a fool?
