At first you will find the reality mundane but eventually it will help you in becoming the better version of yourself.
KARACHI: Mediocrity is not a deficiency. It is a complete statistical improbability that any single person can be an extraordinary performer in all areas of their lives. It is impossible for every single human being to be extraordinary. In this era of modern technology, the media has taken control over the minds of the common people. It perpetuates ideal information, be it the greatest physical feats, the biggest threats, the saddest news, the extraordinary achievements, etc. After getting influenced by the “extraordinary”, a mediocre mind finds itself left out and feels insecure. The flood of extreme information has conditioned us to believe that exceptional is the new normal. Everybody endorses exceptionalism and considers mediocrity as a failure. Famous celebrities, politicians, business tycoons claim that each and everybody of us can be extraordinary. This claim, however, is intrinsically contradictory because if everyone becomes extraordinary then by definition nobody would be anymore. Most people are afraid to accept mediocrity as they think that they would not achieve their goal. The exceptional people are the ones who believe that there is always room for improvement and they try to become even better. It is certain that nobody in this world accepts the reality of being mediocre because we all have been told that we are extraordinary and we all expect so much from ourselves. At first you will find the reality mundane but eventually it will help you in becoming the better version of yourself.
