HUB: In our education sector, students are mostly confined to their course books. There is no other activity to engage them in study and build up their level of creativity. Constantly repeating the same subjects over and over again is the reason that students think of their studies as a burden. It becomes a mundane task rather than an interesting activity. What happens when a child constantly repeats the same task is that their thought becomes dogmatic. They are not able to think outside of the task assigned to them as it becomes ingrained in their subconscious.
Introducing new assignments and projects can be very useful to vibrate the minds of young students and persuade them to think uniquely and creatively. For instance, at a local language centre my teacher fixed Mondays for activities. Every Monday we have something new to explore. By performing each activity, we learn something informative in a different and fun way. Recently, we had conducted a survey about student’s responsibilities. There were many questions that we asked and got amazing responses. It helped raise our curiosity about the topic in an innovative manner. Such activities enhance the creativity of students and increase their involvement in class too. Introducing such projects in all educational institutions will be a good idea. As a result, creative and active students may emerge in future.
