We, as a nation, sincerely and seriously need to heed WHO’s precautionary measures
CANADA: COVID-19, which was not a serious topic around two months ago, has become a new topic of discussion. The virus in nature is merciless and non-discriminatory and can spread like wildfire. People everywhere on earth are vulnerable. Those with a weak immune system such as old people are most at risk. Most of our elderly people tend to stay home. Children go out to play and touch numerous places where there could be a possibility of them contracting the virus. When people live in joint family system they likely share common household items such as glass, towels, utensils and other essential stuff. Elders are very easily exposed and affected by this disease.
We understand Pakistan is a country which doesn’t have abundance of resources rather we depend on governmental and private aid to support, sustain and fight the crisis. But among all these obstacles, we can still individually do our part by taking this pandemic situation seriously and practise all mandatory precautionary measures provided by the WHO in its emergency safety guidelines. It is important to be aware of how we can be safe. In Pakistan, the government needs to come up with a national action plan to fight this novel virus in order to prevent panic and chaos. We, as a nation, sincerely and seriously need to heed WHO’s precautionary measures and provisions to battle this invisible enemy by cleaning, sanitising and self-isolating ourselves. Let’s be very serious.
