The menace of stray dogs

Letter March 20, 2020
Stray dogs roaming around in large numbers have restricted people’s mobility.

KARACHI: Rawalpindi’s Razzaq Town is facing the problem of stray dogs. Residents are worried with regard to rapidly rising population of these dogs as people are falling victim to dog-bite. This is an issue that needs collective efforts. Both the government and the people need to be involved. Healthcare facilities are inadequate and the government’s will to properly handle the issue appears to be lacking.

I urge the government and the local bodies to solve the problem as soon as possible. Stray dogs roaming around in large numbers have restricted people’s mobility. It is hard for families to walk out of their homes during leisure as they are afraid that stray dogs might chase them.
