Ghotki is the second highest tax-paying district in Sindh.
GHOTKI: Ghotki is the second highest tax-paying district in Sindh. It has many resources and many industries such as OGDCL and Engro Fertilizers. In spite of it being so resourceful, the problems of the city are too many. One of main problem that restricts the mobility of citizens is the deplorable condition of roads. The Lanjari-Adilpur road, which is roughly 12 miles, leads to the city connecting more than 50 villages. No one has paid much attention to the road since 2006. It is the only route of commute for thousands of people who want access to the city. Villagers use this road to go to the city either for purchasing foods or for better healthcare.
However, the condition of the road is deplorable with countless potholes, uneven road surfaces, broken concrete, sinkholes, and cracks. The road has become heavily accident prone and could easily burst the tire of fast moving vehicles and cause unnecessary collisions. Villagers are facing a lot of inconvenience owing to the condition of the road. This is the sad reality of the people living in the second most tax-paying city in Sindh. People are not getting the guarantee of safe and smooth movement and it is quite disappointing. Proper infrastructures including roads are important for the city to function and movement of people plays an important role in improving growth and diversity within the country.
I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned to the deplorable state of the Lanjari-Adilpur road. They should make sure that all the cracked roads are re-carpeted in the near future so that the residents can breathe a sigh of relief.
