All promotions and privileges are reserved for people they know well rather than based on merit
ISLAMABAD: We have laws to help various organisations to run in an effective manner. But there are several people placed at the helm of affairs in different organisations who do not govern those organisations in accordance with the law. These people in authority positions have no regard and reverence for the sacred document we call the “Constitution of Pakistan”, which advocates equality for citizens in Article 25.
These authorities always promote regionalism, provincialism, ethnicity, sectarianism and other ills and evils in society. Nepotism is prevalent in all such institutions. All promotions and privileges are reserved for people they know well rather than based on merit.
If any patriotic law-abiding citizen and friend of the public sector organisation points out any administrative injustice, abnormalities, aberrations, deep discrimination in the recruitment process or administrative policies then various ways and means are used to gag or harass such citizens so that they remain silent.
Those who are defiling these institutions and corrupting the overall atmosphere of the country should be sought out, put to trial and punished accordingly. Pakistan is a federation and to achieve and strengthen national unity, develop national integration, promote social and organisational justice and respond effectively to changing needs and conditions of the nation in crisis, our authorities must behave like “father figures” and promote equality, egalitarianism and justice within organisations.
