Corona and courts

The sooner this happens the better it is to protect these people of a noble profession.

ISLAMABAD: The world in which we live in is now in the grip of a coronavirus pandemic. The nations of the world are taking various measures to stop the spread of this dangerous virus.

Much is desired in our Pakistani society to stop its spread. Recently, I visited the Islamabad District Bar Association and the Islamabad High Court Bar Association with my younger brother who is an advocate.

Like many others, I noticed that the legal and judicial fraternity is more susceptible to contract this virus because our courts are always swarming with people from different walks of life. Hundreds of thousands of law practitioners, media men assemble in the court premises every day for multiple different purposes.

Keeping in view the threat of the coronavirus around the globe, it is requested that precautionary training seminars and orientations should be arranged for lawyers, judicial officers, court personnel, justice seekers and others related to the sector. Renowned virologist and expert doctors may be invited for enlightening people about the situation.

It is suggested that comprehensive disinfectants in the bar rooms, libraries, cafeterias, canteens and in other parts of the courts be sprayed without any delay and equipment containing sanitizer liquids may be installed in different suitable corners of the courts across the country. The sooner this happens the better it is to protect these people of a noble profession.
