Baloch culture day

Letter March 03, 2020
It is our responsibility to promote our culture the way it has been promoted before.

HUB: The Baloch culture day is celebrated on the 2nd of March. On this day, the Baloch community show casts their customs, traditions, and cultures all over the world. Balochi women wear their traditional Balochi dresses with their gold jewelleries and men wear turbans. They perform their most famous dance which is called “dochapi” in which woman move around in a circle and clap together. The purpose of celebrating the Balochi culture is to highlight the values of the Baloch people and their traditions.

But what is disappointing is the way our culture is celebrated as it doesn’t really follow our culture and traditions. Our culture is being promoted in an eccentric way. On the day of celebration, women go outside without scarves and some of them wear jeans and shirts, and dance on stage with men. I am not saying that our culture should not be celebrated. We must celebrate our culture, but should follow our true customs and traditions.

It is our responsibility to promote our culture the way it has been promoted before.
