It is time to solve the problems that Karachi faces otherwise these issues will lead to violence in the future
KARACHI: Karachi, the biggest city of Pakistan, is the economic hub of the country. It generates up to 65% of Pakistan’s revenue and once again emerged the highest tax-paying city in the country.
Millions of migrants from other provinces flock to Karachi to earn their living. Billions are remitted to their families based outside Karachi. Here are automobile manufacturing companies as well as the biggest fishery hub of Pakistan.
Even though Karachi generates the revenue to run the whole country, its problems are being avoided by the federal and provincial governments. People living in the city are facing many problems such as bad law and order, land grabbing, unemployment, water scarcity, honour killing, pollution and lack of facilities for education.
Justice should prevail and every individual living in this city should be given basic rights.
Illegal infrastructure problems should be taken into account. Quality education should be provided in every area of the city. Equal facilities and similar course outline must be introduced uniformly in schools throughout the city. Transport should be minimised by introducing cycle stations to save the environment from pollution. For travelling cycle stands should be introduced to deal with traffic problems as well. Unemployment should be overcome. Bribery and fake businesses should be prevented in order to shed light on the right sources of employment. New ideas should be welcomed to create more jobs and fresh graduates should be given a chance to share their ideas.
It’s the time that we stopped looking at Karachi from an ethnic perspective or a city of one party. It is time to solve the problems that Karachi faces otherwise these issues will lead to violence in the future and the city will soon become ungovernable.
