Visit to Malaysia

Letter February 06, 2020
It is important to have a stable connection with our neighbouring countries and learn from them

TURBAT: Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent two-day visit to Malaysia seems fruitful as it builds up Pakistan’s relations with other Muslim countries. This was important as the world seemed skeptical after Pakistan didn’t participate at the Kuala Lumpur summit. The present visit renews hopes to create good relations with Malaysia.

PM Khan expressed his regret on being unable to attend the KL summit. Such visits and meetings between Muslim states show that we are united on any issue that tries to divide the Muslim Ummah. We are stronger together and we can easily face our enemies. Imran Khan also claimed to be initiating a project to educate the people of the world about Islam, which aims to renew the image of the Muslim community after it was tarnished because of 9/11 and the terrorism that followed. He also declared that Pakistan would be participating in the upcoming KL summit to boost relations with Muslim countries.

Pakistan is ready to import palm oil from Malaysia so as to boost trade as well, which is also a healthy sign. Imran Khan remained tactful by the use of his words especially on the Kashmir issue, which is appreciable in order to show the world that we would do whatever we can to end Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir. It is important to have a stable connection with our neighbouring countries and learn from them.
