Oppressed youth

Letter January 29, 2020
A majority of our younger popluation has no proper education or skills as a result of which they become a burden

JOHI: An educated and enlightened youth can play an important role in the social and economic development of a country while it is the sole responsibility of a state and its institutions to facilitate and accommodate its educated segment so that it could strive for a sustainable positive change in society. Advanced countries invest whole-heartedly in their youth and the youth, in return, strives to move the country forward.

Unfortunately, in Pakistan a majority of our younger popluation has no proper education or skills as a result of which they become a burden on their families, and thus the society. Unlike advanced countries where the educated youth is groomed academically, mentally, socially and financially, in Pakistan the youth, in general, turns poorer with time, resulting in ultimate disappointment and depression — a state that is enough to make them unproductive.
