KARACHI: Karachi is a big city but there are limited recreational facilities. The Aladin Amusement Park is one example, however most sites or barren land are left empty and are filled with garbage or sewerage water. The government should convert such places into public parks, adding beauty to the area on the one end and providing an interactive space for the people on the other. Swings and other sports facilities can be added for the young as well. Although the government’s revenue is not enough in this regard, the scheme can be simplified by involving the private sector. The government should include the private sector and place them in charge of running these parks, which will also generate revenue for the government and bring people closer to healthy recreational activities.
Residents of Karachi and many other cities and towns of Pakistan are starved of entertainment. The government should also take steps in this regard.
