Law officers

Inefficiency and incompetence of several law officers hired by federal & provincial governments are being talked about

ISLAMABAD: Inefficiency and incompetence of several law officers hired by the federal and provincial governments are being talked about. Law officers are, in fact, a limb of the legal and judicial process. Officers of court and minister of justice have a crucial role; therefore, they should always be people of high moral, professional and intellectual calibre– not just some run of the mill person.

As officers of the court it is their duty to uphold the dignity and authority of the courts and to instill integrity in the administration of justice. Their conduct ought to and must be scrupulously observant of law and professional ethics.

Those law officers who are really interested in their work and their achievements have always demonstrated their professional competence and mastery of subject matter. They are conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results. They are motivated by professional rather than personal concerns. They always show persistence when they are faced with difficult problems or challenges. They must be promoted or elevated as judges of the High Courts. On the contrary, those who are good for nothing, not proficient in law, but some sort of liability, must be shown the door.
