Climate change effects

Letter December 28, 2019
The government should take other necessary measures to stop climate change

BALOCHISTAN: Climate change is a challenging issue caused by 97% of human activities on earth. The atmosphere is disturbed as glaciers are melting. The planet is drying up. However, the science is very dense. The industrial revolution was the major cause that has led to this climate catastrophe. The temperature increases by the day and scientists believe that the global growing population uses extra vehicles and fossil fuels which heats up the planet. Atmospheric gases such as water vapour, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, chlorofluorocarbons that react with industrial chemicals increase the greenhouse effect and damages crop production. In high environmental temperature, crop cultivation becomes even more challenging. The demand for food increases with the rapid growth of population, therefore, people in developing countries like Pakistan experience food crisis. Agricultural innovations are the only source to overcome food shortage, biotechnology helps in crop production. Additionally, some countries are likely to observe the global climate change owing to the industrial smogs and the higher level of CO2. According to recent rumours, the Australian PM has burned a quarter of its forest for industrial purpose — a huge loss for a sustainable environment. Pakistan’s population is likely to grow 50% in the coming 30 years. The public is already facing food insecurity. Finally, the government of Pakistan has to arrange some smart technology to overcome the challenges. The government should take other necessary measures to stop climate change.
