Wastage of water

The government should enroll some plumbers who regularly maintain the taps

WAH CANTT: Perhaps the most difficult problem that the world faces today is scarcity of clean water. Therefore, it becomes obvious that because of the water crisis looming over our heads wasting water becomes a severe problem, especially in Pakistan, as is the case in many parts of the world. Since Pakistan is close to the equator, it will be affected significantly by global warming. Therefore people in Pakistan should be careful and regulate the use of water.

People wash their cars with excess water due to which a lot of it is wasted. In the shower, we let the taps run for a long time without a care of how much water is being wasted. The other major cause of water wastage is farming. Farmers tend to open the water for the entire farm, which leads to water wastage. Instead, they should use more effective methods like drip irrigation that is more efficient and preserves a great deal of water. Water is a precious natural resource and it is irresponsible of people and municipalities to waste it. The municipal body has installed a number of taps of drinking water for the welfare of the people; but sadly, because of the lack of maintenance, many of them are leaking or are broken.

Water is a precious resource and we should use it efficiently. The government should enroll some plumbers who regularly maintain the taps. The general public should also take steps to minimise water wastage. Schools, colleges and housing societies should organise meet-ups and spread awareness about the importance of water in our lives.
