The rate of sugarcane has remained the same for five years
KARACHI: Crops have been harvested in different areas of Sindh. It is recurrent with the Sindhi people who have been jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. The crops are ready to be sold but at the same price as they had been before. The rate of sugarcane has remained the same for five years. Despite a court order, the price of sugarcane has not been decided by the provincial agriculture department. Farmers and villagers have to face much stress, mental agony and societal injustice because they are being constantly harassed by authorities. If the crops are not sold on time, they dry up in the fields before trade. It is important to rehabilitate sugar mills and decide sugarcane prices.
