RAWALPINDI: This is with reference to Syed Mustafa Kamal’s article of July 14 titled “Flaws in US perceptions of Pakistan’s ‘democracy’”.
It seems that the respectable former nazim of Karachi forgot that his own party was part and parcel of the same democratic culture that he is faulting. While the flaws of democracy as it exists in Pakistan, as outlined by the writer, are correct, the MQM also must share some of the blame for the fact that we do not have a fully functional democratic culture in this country.
