Justice for Nimrita

Letter November 16, 2019
The law should be implemented to ensure the security of female students on campuses

ISLAMABAD: Nimrita’s post-mortem report has been submitted. According to the post-mortem report, the deceased was subjected to rape and subsequently murdered. One fails to understand how can one conveniently get access to a girl’s hostel room, commit a heinous crime and escape. It leads to many unanswered questions and exposes the security mechanism of our universities. All eyes are on the authorities to see how this case is dealt with as it is a matter of considerable concern. The law should be implemented to ensure the security of female students on campuses. Otherwise many girls like Nimrita will be fall prey to predators in the future. It is necessary to expose the perpetrators and their accomplices. The authorities should also sack the VC for failing to protect students within the campus.
