The poor are finding many of their basic needs unfulfilled
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is one of the most populated countries in the world blessed with many natural resources. It is, however, facing difficult challenges on the political and economic fronts. Our prime minister is increasing taxes by the day, on everything. Poor families in our country are not able to afford two square meals because of the increased taxes on grocery items. The taxes have made it all the more harder for middle-class families to pay for their children’s education. Is there anything in the country that the poor can afford?
In my opinion our prime minister has to focus on the resources of Pakistan, fully utilise them and create employment opportunities for the poor people and reduce taxes so that lower-class citizens can run their households, educate their children and provide basic necessities to their families. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the common people to make ends meet in the face of ever-increasing taxes. The situation is resulting in many poor families not getting enough to eat. It is resulting in malnutrition and under-nutrition. This is causing widespread stunting among the poor. The poor are finding many of their basic needs unfulfilled.
