Hepatitis B and C

Letter October 02, 2019
The government should do all that it can to save the people of Jacobabad from the dangerous disease

JACOBABAD: Jacobabad is a city known for its extreme summer temperatures but another predicament of the city is the growing cases of Hepatitis B and C. The situation is worse than it was ever before; perhaps it is now an epidemic that would shake the Health Ministry if the number of affected patients were quantified. Every household is affected one way or the other and numbers are growing due to the lack of education, poverty and predominantly unqualified doctors injecting used syringes.

This situation has worsened as majority of the affected patients cannot even afford tests, and thus they spread the virus unknowingly. I urge the government to do the needful. It is an emergency situation. The government should do all that it can to save the people of Jacobabad from the dangerous disease.
