In 1999, the confession of Jawaid Iqbal Mughal sexually abusing and murdering 100 children in Lahore shocked the entire nation. The criminal used to dispose of the dead bodies of children ranging from age six to sixteen by dissolving them in acid. On October 8, Jawaid Iqbal and an accomplice of his committed suicide in prison. Children continue to disappear, especially in the province of Punjab. In 2015, shocking videos of child sexual abuse in Kasur surfaced, which shocked not only the entire nation but the whole world. It was widely condemned. Possibly not a day passes when children are not subjected to assault. Parents of those unfortunate children had to face hardships in getting an FIR registered. The law order situation is worsening in Punjab. Repeated incidents of the disappearance of children have given a bad image to the Punjab police. Now it is time that other security agencies also shared in the maintenance of law and order.
