Letter September 20, 2019
Having negative effects on human health, climate, wildlife, plants and marine life

KARACHI: As the population of the world is increasing rapidly it is also producing garbage at an alarming rate. We use plastic the most it in our daily life for different purposes. This is the major cause of pollution around the world. Plastic has negative effects on human health, nature, wildlife and it also kills off plants and marine life posing dangers to ecological systems. Although plastic is a useful material, it is made from toxic compounds known to cause cancer and various other diseases. The world is discarding billion of tons of plastic into oceans. Pakistan is among the countries contributing to this. This is an alarming situation for us. We should take stern action against it at the national and international levels. As individuals we should also try to avoid using plastic and plastic-made things as much as possible.
