The government should spread awareness about family planning & shed light on the consequences of population explosion
TURBAT: We all are well aware that the population of Pakistan is increasing rapidly and it is very severely affecting the economy on the country. A former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Sadib Nisar, had said he would launch a campaign to create awareness about family planning and talk about the significance of having a small family. Pakistan is the 6th most populous country in the world. One of the problems facing Pakistan is a shortage of water. If the population will increase, most people will not get their basic necessities fulfilled. The essential everyday commodities will be circulated amongst the rich few and the rest of the population will be left fighting for the minimal remains. According to the 2017 census that was held after a gap of 19 years, the country’s population was counted at approximately 20,774,520. The population growth is 2.4 per cent but if we see the advanced countries their growth rate is much less. They somehow tend to control the population of their countries either through awareness or other incentives. It is a fact that resources are limited and demands of the humans are unlimited. If we do not control the population growth then surely we cannot be capable of fulfilling our demands. It is mainly through family planning that the population can be controlled. The government should spread awareness about family planning. I urge the government to create awareness about the issue and the consequences of population explosion.
