During all three spells of rain, people meet with accidents, while authorities are in deep slumber
KARACHI: This rainy season Karachi has so far received three spells of rain. All the three spells added to miseries of the residents. But the authorities have so far remained unmoved. Every day the people expect the authorities moving on to the field and do the needful. But things continue to deteriorate. Roads are in a dilapidated condition, full of potholes and craters posing danger to life. It seems the authorities are in a deep slumber. Instead of working to improve things they regularly make claims of having brought about improvements. During all the three spells of rain, many people met with accidents as craters and ditches on roads become invisible after rainwater accumulates. No one knows what is under water, whether it is a ditch, large boulders, bare live electric wire, serpents or scorpions. Many helpless people suffered serious accidents. Many died an instant death. Many will die in hospitals and homes after undergoing suffering. Hats off to the cruel authorities.
