A Pakistani identity is not a natural progression but an identity that we were forced to forge.
AMSTERDAM: This is with reference to Saroop Ijaz’s article of July 6 titled “So what is our ‘Pakistani’ identity?”. A Pakistani identity is not a natural progression but an identity that we were forced to forge due to some political adjustment. The only way we can tell if the experiment has passed is if instead of coercion people were given the option to adopt this identity voluntarily — and the test would be to see how many eventually do that.
