Pakistan’s policy to liberate Kashmir through the use of force has failed.
RAWALPINDI: This is with reference to Yaqoob Khan Bangash’s article of July 5 titled “Time to forget Kashmir”. The article is right when it says that we must first look into our own state of affairs. It is no secret that Pakistan’s policy to liberate Kashmir through the use of force has failed.
The writer is also right in saying that if Pakistan did not waste its resources on Kashmir, it would have been economically far ahead of India. Our exports are currently $24 billion a year and this is less than an eighth of India’s exports of over $200 billion. Today, Pakistan faces terrorism at home, which is ironic given that the Kashmir jihad tried to bring it to India.
We are quick to demand rights and democracy for the people of Indian Kashmir but deny our own people the same thing.
